Gloucestershire Primary RE Conference 2024 will deliver an inspiring mix of research, exploration and practical strategies, this is the best CPD you will have all year! As always, there will be an extravagance of resources and ideas to take away and use in your classrooms.
What do learners need to know in RE? Is knowledge-rich RE dull and irrelevant to teenagers? With limited time and resources, how can we choose what to teach and what to leave out? In this session, we will think deeply about how knowledge in RE can empower those we teach and enable them to become competent and independent learners.
This will be a practical conference to explore theory and practice, from enriching provision at KS3 to enhance GCSE results, through to research on worldviews and being non-religious. The conference is open to Secondary schools that fall within the following areas: Gloucestershire, Bristol, Swindon, and East into the West Midlands and Birmingham and Shropshire – all accessible via the M5 and M50.
What is a religion and worldviews approach? How is it different from current RE practice? What are the benefits to teachers and pupils? A practical introduction, drawing on the new RE Council Handbook and Frameworks, including resources and strategies, to show how to enrich and deepen pupils’ understanding of religious and non-religious worldviews.
RE continues to be a legal requirement for all sixth forms. This webinar will provide teachers of RE with a range of very fantastic ideas about how to meet these requirements, in imaginative ways by setting high standards. There will be discussion opportunities until 5.30 PM. This webinar is suitable for: all types of schools and academies including Catholic and Anglican.
