RE is like the Tardis. Despite the small space it occupies in the curriculum, it is huge, encompassing nothing less than humanity’s most searching questions, its deepest hopes, the history of the world’s beliefs and their diverse manifestation in the modern world. Working with unfamiliar content and deeply held beliefs can be intimidating for teachers of RE. This section aims to support you in developing an RE that makes sense to you, your pupils and your local context.
There are several ways of approaching RE, all of them valid, but with subtly different aims that require different types of activity. Establishing your aims of RE is the first step in visualising high-quality RE which you will be proud to teach.
