A Mother's Love
Mariya, Monica and Tabassum, Leicester
Age 14

Our picture is about thanking mothers about their unconditional love, care and support. The vision in the eye is of the future, where the child is grown up and looking after the mother. We believe that a mother's love is priceless, and deserves to be repaid.

Our artwork is inspired by a verse from the Quran which says
"Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, utter not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honour.
And, out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say "My Lord! Bestow on them thy mercy even as they cherished me in childhood" (Bani Isra’il 17:23-24)

We are proud of our work because we feel it gives an important message, as in today's society, family values are weakening and we hope to inspire people to appreciate their parents.
