Searching for God: Doors

Our piece of art is showing Searching for God. We have eight different doors, which open to show different problems happening in the world right now.
Behind one door is fire which stands for all the evil in the world. We also show poverty - this shows that there are people all over the world who are much less fortunate than us and how different it is to be on different sides of the world.
We also have two pictures of war because there is so much of it happening in the world right now. We also have picture of the 9/11 attack, as it was a shocking event that happened and lots of people lost their families and friends. We have homeless people who are the same as us but who get looked down on and treated like dirt.
We also have animal cruelty because so many animals are abused in so many ways and they cannot stop it happening. They have no voices behind the closed doors, which show the conditions they are often kept in.
Behind the last door is a question mark because God isn't behind any of the other doors so where is he? We used the doorway concept because we like the idea of looking behind doors to search for God. Behind which door can he be found? We feel that there is a special door that everyone can choose to open when they choose. Sometimes the door may open and shut before we really find the answer to the question mark. Where is he? If we could all find the right door then maybe the others we have shown will never open again. |
