Joe has been teaching RE for 9 years. He is often asked to lead CPD locally and nationally. He regularly speaks at conferences and has a passion for high-quality RE that enables pupils to have a richer understanding of religion. Joe works with ITT providers to lead sessions for RE trainees on areas of teaching such as writing use of scholarship in the classroom.

What do you love about RE?

'RE is such an important subject because it enables young people to have a deeper understanding of the world around them. The subject allows students to be aware of the religious and non-religious traditions that have shaped this country, the world, and the human experience. By teaching RE, we help young people gain a greater awareness of what it means to be human.'

What do you love about NATRE?

'NATRE helps to promote the importance of RE and supports RE teachers with high-quality CPD to make our subject the best it can be.'
