Rachael is a teacher of Religious Studies and Critical Thinking at the King Edward High School for Girls, Edgbaston, Birmingham. She undertook her BA in Religious Studies at Kings College, University of London and a Masters in Religious Studies at SOAS, University of London. In 2012, Rachael completed a doctorate that looked at the teaching of Religious Studies through thinking skills grounded within a social constructivist theory of learning. She has been part of the REC qualifications committee, is serving on the teachers consultation group for AQA, writes a research up date for each issue of the professional reflection of RE today magazine and is currently setting up the Birmingham Secondary teachers group for Religious Education teachers with Sarah Hall. Rachael is particularly interested in looking at ways in which research can be more accessible to teachers and how constructivist theories of learning can be embedded further within Religious Education lessons.
