Our Spiritual Community - A view of the world
Our mural is a depiction of what we think the world around us go looks like. We made it to put in our school spiritual area so all the children in school could enjoy it and think about our school community.
We included all our school values as they help us to understand the world around us and we put them on bunting because that depicts all the celebrations, we have had from all the years this school has stood.
We also wrote our core values on mirrors so when people look in them, they feel empowered by the message and the value by seeing themselves. Our school houses are called Donaldson, Morpurgo, Dahl and Rowling named after four very famous authors! We have also included the Bible as it is important book in our school.
We made a river to show our classes [stream, river, estuary, ocean) and growth through primary. Our boat is called 'Our Journey' and shows our journey through school, and it flows through the rivers like our changing classes. We also have a cross shaped anchor to show that God is with us wherever we are keeping us safe.
We believe that God is our shepherd, and we are his sheep. Therefore, we have drawn sheep in our picture.
We have included pinecones, acorns, and helicopters as we find them in our playground, and they are incredibly special to us and our school.
On our mural we have included our village church. It is placed right by our school. The church is a massive part of our school. It has been the venue to so many of our school plays. It is such a lovely place to be and when you leave you always feel little bit more colourful than when you came in. This is why we painted a rainbow roof.
We have drawn music notes in clouds as we are a very musical school and whenever we sing in the church you can always hear the school's awesome singing.
We have painted a massive sunshine behind the church to depict that even when it is raining or snowing at Huntly, it is always sunny and bright.
This is our view of the world, and we love it!
