Talking to God: Where is God?
Teacher: Pupils were invited to think about the question ‘Where is God?’ Some stories from the faith communities answer this question. Sometimes the questions are all you need! Many pupils had their own answers. Agnostics and atheists might say 'we don’t know' or 'nowhere'. In prayer, religious people talk to God, and seek or find God – they say! Winning work in this area mixed elements such as talking about God - or to God - with doubt, theology, seeking, sensing or listening to God creatively. Pupils’ own views, and the answers of religion, both had a place.
Students: Talking to God: Where is God? If you pray to God, but you cannot see him, where is God? This theme asked the question ‘where is God?’ Some say God’s invisible, but everywhere, listening. Some say God’s nowhere at all, just in the mind, imaginary. Some people look for God in prayer, in Church, in nature or in t he stars. Some say they find God in the Qur’an or in their own hearts and minds. Mother Teresa said she found God in the dying leper she helped in Calcutta. Atheist, believer or agnostic, were asked to make a work of art that gives your own answer, or asks their own questions, about talking to God, about where is God.
