A Place Built on Friendship

A place built on friendship shows the inspiration and joy that van be found between friends. The Amarbayasgalant monastery is one of the most pivotal temples in Tibetan Buddhism. This is why. The Monastery itself was built because an exploratory group- looking for a site for a new temple- came across two young boys (Amur and Bayasqulangtu) playing on the hillside. They felt inspiration to build it where they had witnessed innocent joy and harmony. The young girls in my work represent myself and a friend whose dad is from Mongolia. The monastery is a place where people can worship and find peace with everyone, the same race or not. It shows how it doesn’t matter where you come from, how you look, blonde or brown hair or even if you are from a different faith. The only thing that matters is that if everyone is understanding of all our differences, there is no need for argument.
