Looking in the wrong places
My pieces show the hand of a person reaching out to a cross (the cross represents God/Jesus). The hand is restrained by iron shackles that prevent the person from reaching God.
For a very long time our world has been in constant conflict between the views of religion and science. Many people find it easier to believe in the more logical and scientific theories, which seem to challenge religious beliefs. We are often betrayed by our expectation of being able to see God. My question is, ‘Could God still exist without having a physical presence?’ Could it be that God is the light that shines upon the earth, giving life to millions of extraordinary creatures? Could God be the air we breathe? Could God simply be the good deeds people carry out every day?
My piece shows how logic and science (represented by the shackles) sometimes hold people back and prevent them from believing in a ‘God’ who is real to them.
So, ask yourself this question, ‘Is there no God, or have we just been looking in the wrong places?’
