Searching for God

I have chosen to use the topic of ‘Looking for God’. My artwork is about someone on a car journey using Google Maps on their phone to find God.

I like my idea because it relates to modern everyday life by using Google Maps. I hope people will also notice how I have included the idea of nature in my artwork, for example birds, mountains and trees. This is because some people can find it easier to discover God in the incredible nature he has created. A quote from the Bible which takes me to my artwork is Psalms 95:4 ‘In his hands are the depts of the earths and the mountain peaks belong to him’. This suggests that all nature belongs to God therefore this could be where people can find him.

Also, the road that I have included could represent the path leading to God, Roads can be very complicated with many different routes to many different places. The Google Maps could represent Jesus, God’s son, pointing to the right way to find God.

I have made my artwork by drawing a mobile phone with Google Maps on the screen. I have put ‘God’ in the search box to represent someone trying to find God. I have put a plastic folder over the scenery to show a window screen.
