Pray – Through the light, together we can find the way
We have called our piece of art, Through the light, together we can find the way. This is because we all created it together with our fingers. Everyone’s fingers are different and unique, just like people’s beliefs and opinions. We found out that even though we are not all talented at painting, we could still make something very beautiful if we worked together. Our Art in Heaven Work is about Pentecost, it was on the 50th day after Easter when the apostles prayed together and the Holy Spirit descended on them finding their way collected, to reach out and communicate with all of Gods people regardless of their origins of talents. Together they spread the word of their Lord through prayer. Through the light they found their way, united in one belief. They prayed together in many languages but could understand each other. Our painting reminds us of where we go for outdoor learning. We all walk together and talk and find such beautiful things and we all follow the light that shines through the trees at the end of the path so we can find our way. Doing our painting has helped us work together and given us our own piece of reflection as we are all different. We made our painting with dry powder paint sprayed with water and then mixed powder paint with PVA glue and used our fingers. All our fingers have been used to make our painting, every one of us. We all worked together and as our art was made over 4 days it made us feel proud and very happy and peaceful as we looked towards the light through the trees. Teachers notes. This painting produced by 30 children of year 3 / 4 displays how they worked together to find their unique talents combined to produce their rendition of art in prayer. Created with only their fingers, they could clearly see how each print they made changed and left an impression upon on others, to build a truly unique and beautiful message.
