Glass Painting
As I am a dedicated Hindu, I decided to reflect on the question ‘Where Is God?’. In my artwork, the moon represents someone who might meditate or pray to find God in a spiritual sense. For instance, trying to find light in the darkest of days. The sun represents someone who wants to find God in a physical sense, like a being or object.
I choose the moon to represent mentally trying to find God, as it is a symbol of calmness and peace in Hinduism. The sun generally suggests anger or a surge to accomplish something, i.e. to find God.
The bubbles show how the path is faint and almost disappears into a hazy cloud. I added more bubbles to the sun, as in Hinduism it is believed that finding God through light and meditation has a greater effect. This is also the reason I why I decided to use glass to paint on as the glass is see through which also suggests that the path may not always be easy to see and follow.
