Sarah Payne

South Central Regional Ambassador

Sarah is subject leader for RE and PSHCE at Woodland Middle School in Flitwick. A teacher with 19 years' experience, she leads teams teaching RE and PSHCE, as well as coordinating British Values, Pupil Premium and SMSC in previous roles. Sarah has worked with many other local schools and small groups, developing practice and lesson ideas. She believes that we need to work together to ensure our subject is widely accepted and understood as relevant by pupils and SLTs alike. Her passion for active learning enthused her Farmington Fellowship project entitled "Motivating the Disaffected RE Teacher: An Active Learning Approach." She has spoken at local SACREs and conferences as well as at national conferences. Sarah is looking forward to working as a regional ambassador for South Central, encouraging small local groups with big vision.

In her spare time, Sarah is a leader at her church, and is often found treading the boards at the local theatre.

"My teaching passions lie in quality, challenging RE, and I am particularly interested in creative and active RE lessons. RE is time in their week to be thoughtful, reflective and inspired. It will be a privilege to work alongside other teachers in South Central with NATRE."
