A level RS does not appear to be available to all students on an equal basis

Ofqual publish a number of data sets in their Ofqual Analytics section. Those of you who are interested in how provision for RS varies in the different regions of England, may find this chart interesting. It should be noted however, that areas vary considerably in the proportion of schools with a religious character, who are statistically more likely than others to enter candidates for RS. The number of schools in each county also varies. The chart below however, does provide evidence to support a common theme found in RS data, that the opportunity to study Religious Studies, especially at examination level, is not available to all students.
