Why I love... How the RE Today Primary RE Curriculum is taking the stress out of teaching RE
This full religious education curriculum has been designed by expert teachers, for teachers, to take the stress out of RE curriculum design. It is creative and full of resources that will inspire your pupils, whilst saving you time. RE Today and NATRE’s RE resource is a full curriculum featuring PowerPoints, step-by-step lesson plans, knowledge organisers, progressive vocabulary, lesson activities and assessment materials for pupils, all the way from Foundation to Year 6.
The curriculum has been written using a spiral approach and retrieval practice, which support children in revisiting core concepts to build upon their learning ensuring that they know more and remember more by the end of their time in primary school. The materials also reflect the curriculum at our school, and are suitable for use in primary community and church schools. It’s exciting to see pupils develop a deep understanding of religious and non-religious worldviews because of the curriculum that we follow. I love the progressive approach to the teaching of subject-specific vocabulary, clear step-by-step lesson plans, ready-made PowerPoints, and assessment materials.
I am a firm believer in the importance of creativity within learning and these resources come with lesson ideas that feature art, music, drama, creative writing and so much more. Our children at Bickleigh Down love their RE lessons and are always excited to find out what they will be doing next. These resources are accessible with our Primary School-Enhanced NATRE membership.
