Investigating God

The concept of God is an essential piece of substantive content to teach in RE. This first title in the series Big Questions Big Answers offers a variety of well-resourced and inspiring strategies for teaching about God, and focuses in particular on four worldviews: non-religious, Christian, Hindu and Muslim.

Pupils can become investigators, guided by psychology and theology experts, to consider what people mean when they use the word ‘God’.

For younger pupils: we look at what Christians mean by the word God and with the use of music, and what Muslims mean by the word God through story and calligraphy of the 99 names of Allah.

For older pupils: we focus on the Hindu idea of a supreme being and some wider ideas about God in a series of worldviews.
