Religious Education and the lack of support by government funding

Why are teachers in some subject areas supported through government funded curriculum projects, but those who teach Religious education have to do without?

A written question tabled by Kim Leadbeater MP has led to the government acknowledging that it has been supporting curricular projects in many areas of the curriculum, but has allocated no funds at all on Religious education specific projects in the last 5 years.

Please share this information widely and write to your MP if you can. You might want to ask why, when according to a Savanta survey commissioned by CSTG, 64% of UK adults agree that RE is an important part of the school curriculum today, Religious Education is so neglected by the government.
