RE is on the map at the Labour Party conference
22/09/2014
This year for the first time ever there is a stand showcasing RE to MPs, parliamentary candidates and party activists.
The Religious Education stand is a joint initiative from NATRE, REC, and RE Today. Its main aim is to get MPs and others to sign a pledge to call on the next government to support RE.More information is given in the manifesto.
As well as the stand there is a fringe event 'Question time' type discussion chaired by Dr Joyce Miller, with Lat Blaylock, Ben Wood, Mary Glindon MP and Prof Ted Cantle on the panel. There will be a similar presence at Conservative and Liberal Democrat conferences to generate maximum political interest in the importance and value of RE for Britain's young people.
