The Ofsted research review (2021) talks about pupils learning, not just the substantive knowledge of RE – but how to think about knowledge and which tools to use. This session will unpick different ways of knowing or ‘lenses’ for Primary pupils, equipping you with teaching strategies to show you how they can act as sociologists or theologians and deepen their understanding of worldviews in the world today.

The session will outline ideas and resources that are illustrated in the NATRE series, Big Questions, Big Answers. This series was supported by the Big Questions in Classrooms (BQiC) initiative, which looks to develop teachers’ and pupils’ understanding and insight about “how knowledge works”.
