Art in Heaven 2017

Standing up for good

500 years ago, Martin Luther, Christian reformer, stood up for what he believed: ‘Here I stand,’ he said. ‘I can do no other.’ Great human heroes have always stood for justice, for truth, for peace and for goodness. What does it mean to you to stand for good? Whose life story do you find inspiring? And is it true that our heroes are often flawed and failing as well as inspiring? Winning work might take a key moment in the life of a spiritual or human hero as its starting point and show why it is hard, but valuable, to stand up for the good. Teachers could tell stories for inspiration.
